The project located in the Eastern Market of Detroit, MI is to develop a comprehensive urban design, site design, and building design proposal through the demonstration of research and applied design skills engaged with site conditions, local historical traditions, and global culture.
The goal was to integrate environmental, structural, and spatial ordering systems and address issues of sustainability, accessibility, and life/safety in the design. Focusing on the issue of in-fill housing within a community, achieving appropriateness for the place and the people that live there as well as producing a set of architectural drawings delineating the project.
