Mobile Maker Space

The project to design a mobile deployable site plan with a trailer also known as the Kujenga Mobile Maker Space. This trailer contains all the tools required to assemble prefabricated structures, while it also unfolds to create a protected sleeping area for six. The trailer will be deployed to a rural community for a week to complete a project, then be packed back up and relocated.

The goal is to bring the trailer to rural communities are scattered across South Africa. Bringing resources and create a partnership with these rural communities, Indaloworld—in connection with the International Design Clinic. Partnerships will be created and resources distributed so that individuals and groups can continue to propagate the work of Indaloworld, designing to meet their community’s needs.
